Create an Aim
When you’re creating your fundraising project, the first and most important step is to decide on an aim. Aims make the world go round - they:
- Help guide your decisions
- Keep your team aligned on the same track
- Help you understand how successful your event was
- Set objectives - measurable mini-goals which help you get to the end aim.
Aims should be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely.
For example, my Eco Club set a goal:
To fundraise £250 for the World Land Trust in November.
| Specific | You want to raise money for the World Land Trust. |
|---|---|
| Measurable | You want to fundraise £250. |
| Attainable | Depending on your circumstances, that’s likely a pretty realistic goal. |
| Relevant | It is relevant to Eco Club’s mission to fundraise. |
| Timely | It needs to be done within November - that’s something we can work towards. |
